"The 2019 - 2020 Applebaum Photography Fellowship at Darkroom Detroit was a nine-month mentorship and development program for emerging and established photographers in the Detroit area. The program offered fellows critical feedback and support in developing new work, or completing an existing body of work. Selected Fellows received individual and group mentorship, participated in monthly critiques, and had open access to Darkroom Detroit facilities, workshops, classes, and mentorship."

While in previous years, the end of the annual fellowship was celebrated with a gallery show, the 2019 - 2020 Fellowship was sadly limited due to the quarantine. The goal was to create a publication in place of the usual gallery showing, that exudes the feeling of celebration for the Fellows. The result is a professional and celebratory artifact highlighting each photographer and select pieces from their Fellowship portfolios.
